안녕하세요! (Anneonghaseyo! = Hello!)

It has been awhile since i came back from my Hong Kong trip. It was really a shopping spree.

Next, i am gonna go Japan (일본) with my sister in coming Nov autumn. Trip has already been booked wit SA Tours. We will be going to T0kyo, Osaka, Kyoto, which includes Universal Studio, Mt Fuji & Disneyland. I have always wanted to go Japan, and now i have finally set a date to go, so happy! (But i will target to go Hokkaido the next time round!)

Now i am taking intermediate Korean (한국) class, but i'm still very poor with it haha. Too chim and lazy to memo all the vocabs...I wonder if i should still take Advance which consist of 3 levels...Or maybe i shld just switch to Jap class >.<"

I also wanna try to set up a small online business to sell some stuff like ladies bag for extra income. Well..no harm trying. In the midst of it now, just have to wait quite awhile before the goods arrive.. Wish me luck!

October month is a quite a happening month for me, gotta meet my team managers and bosses for dinner at Jumbo; attend EXSA award presentation to get my Silver award; meetup for colleagues' farewell dinner (so sad..); go chiong Double O with colleagues; go Halloween Party with a crazy theme "Pimps & Prostitutes"(alamak...).

I always feel that there are so many things that i wanna do but time always passes too fast, and weekends just past so quickly..

Confirmation!

Yesterday i booked Royal Plaza Hotel superior room at Zuji.com. And today I just booked the Jetstar air tix online. Total 4Days 3 Nites trip. It cost us $608 each. Although it is not really very budget, i feel that it is still quite reasonable, as compared to the price quoted by the travel agency as the hotel is of a good review and the room not as small as many of HK's hotels. The hotel is also situated in Kowloon just walking distance from Mongkok MTR.

Our trip is finalised and confirmed, everything free & easy. Now its time to prepare our itinery. Its quite a short weekend trip, mainly for the shopping sales season, and to have a break from work. We are thinking of going Shenzhen but it may not be very safe for the 2 of us to go alone. Hmm..need to do some research and planning...

I will start doing that today (now 12.44am just past midnite) 'cos im on leave today!! ^^

Hah seems like everyone is rushing for the HK sales season...I already got 4 different friends i know who are going HK in July! One of them even going 2 times on same month!

Hong Kong & Korean

I have finally signed up for my Korean language course at Cambridge Language Centre at Peninsular Plaza. It will be starting on 30th June every Sat from 2pm to 4.30pm. Very excited, i'm finally gonna learn a new language soon ^^. I signed up the course with my korea tour mates. I knew the 3 siblings (2 sis n 1 bro) when i went korea last Apr. This way, we can practice speaking korean with one another ^^.

Hong Kong is on sales now! I'm planning to go HK with my colleague Joyce. Hopefully Kelly is able to join us as well. Tentatively we are planning to go on 27Jul - 30 Jul. I am now searching for the best price for the accomodation and flight. So excited! Finally i'm going for my long awaited overseas trip again!!

Promotion!!!

The team leaders are now Team Managers. And guess what?! I am promoted to Assistant Team Manager (ATM, not ATM machine hor)!

There are more work duties now and tend to OT more often. Alot of newer staff tend to approach me to ask questions and i have to help them. I enjoy helping people. However, sometimes when the team managers are not around, i have to handle complaints escalated by my other team members. It is quite a challenge. It is a good experience and it will be very beneficial to my personal portfolio. However, now i tend to be very busy and need to stay back to give approvals for waivers submitted by team members, which is alot...So everyday on the average, i will stay till nearly 8pm, and reach home about 9pm. After that eat dinner, bathe, by the time i settle down is around 10++pm. Means i only have little time left for recreation, cos nowadays i tend to sleep earlier and nod off in front of my pc.

My new designation letter is still pending. The financial year comes to an end soon, and hopefully there will be another yearly increment in July and big fat bonus in Sept. =D~

Increment!!! Yay!!!

Today i was approached by my head of dept ans she asked me to give her 10mins to talk about something. Im was wondering what she is going to tell me, when she asked me to go to the mutipurpose room with her. She took out a letter and i stared at the paper, and she told me i got a special pay increment due to recent review in pay package. For existing staff only some of us will get it. I was so happy! Because i just left my shift team and forgo my shift allowance for my weekends and public holiday, now i got them all back!

Our company usually is on yearly increment basis based on our key performance index which is in July. Now i am looking forward to July's increment and Sept's bonus =D~ (drools...)

Now i got great urge to go Japan or Turkey & HK in later part of the year. Lets just see how and hope i save more $ by then.

Additionally, my dept head also asked me if i wanna take part in the CCAC, call centre award competition among all call centre ppl in SG. If they were to nominate me, i have to prepare presentation slides for presentation in front of a panel of judges and other ppl, and i have to be very confident in answering the questions that will be posted to me. Just last year, my team leader joined b4 he was promoted to a team leader, and he won the prize. He got trophies and recognition from other companies, and he was given a 1 year free Raffles Country Club membership by our management for the achievement. He was also later promoted to TL. Although i am not as confident enough to achieve all these, but i feel that it is a very good experience for me too, and i am happy that they want to nominate me for this.

I found that these are really good motivation factors for me. Well, let's see how it goes...

More updates

Almost forgot to mention about 24 March, when i went Esplanade to watch Phantom of the Opera with Christin, Yiling, Huifang & her hubby & friend. Actually im not that into watching plays but Phantom is a very famous play and it has a touching story, hence i decided to watch it. It turned out to be very nice indeed. The props they used are very good..but the food they sold was super ex..its daylight robbery!

After the play, we went fo a drink at a chocolate shop (forgot the name) and i went for Call Centre's chalet at Aranda Country Club at Pasir Ris. I did not stay over the night as i have to go for the Maybank Club's "Amazing Race" the next day mornning. But i regretted for not staying because i had fun playing games with the other collegues and it was raining very heavily after our BBQ. We even played "Heart Attack". They also invited ppl like Sam, Jeremy, to join us even though they had resigned. In the end, i reached home ard 3am...The next day i got black eyelids...

Updates

Been quite awhile since my last post..Last time i mentioned that i had our company's so called "Amazing Race", we din't manage to win the race, but it was a fun and tiring experience as we need to search and travel to places like Suntec, Far East Square and even Registry of Marriage to complete our tasks. Though we did not win, all participating teams were given $50 voucher, and we can plan for a meal together using the vouchers =).

My team leader, Jensen, treated me & my fellow team members at Clarke Quay's indonesian restaurant & had a drink at Starbucks. After that, Me, Kenneth & May Lin had a sudden urge to go KTV, hence we asked Kelly & Theodore to join the 3 of us. We had fun =D

But there's a price to pay for having so much fun =.=, we played games, and they made the losers drink beer. I dun really like the taste of beer and i got rashes the next day...i felt abit sick too. For the next few days i fell sick and was having 39.4 degrees high fever, on MC for 2 days. The 1st day of MC i felt so weak and dizzy that i couldnt even stand and walk to the toilet...slept the whole day away...lucky i got better after that, though my throat is not fully recovered yet. Think the flu virus was spreading around call centre, as quite a few of us got v sick...

After i got well, its also time for mi to go for my branch attachment at CCK. The 1st two days i just sit behind the tellers for observation. Now im standing outside to assist with customer's enquiry to comb the queues. Weekdays during mid week tend to be less busy, guess im quite lucky haha. But sometimes i do feel abit paisey for doing nothing when there's no customers or when other staff are busy doing settlements after branch closes. Then i would chat with the intern gal, Jinhui, and the Cisco officer since the rest are very busy with their work. However, i really enjoy waking up late and coming home early since its quite near to my house as compared to my usual working place. The CCK branch ppl are nice too, glad that i've chosen the right branch for attachment. I will be at branch for 2 weeks till near end April, then have to go back to usual working place and working life again haiz..No matter wat, i gotta enjoy these 2 weeks 1st ^^.

After that last KTV we went, Kenneth organised another KTV session last Saturday night. This time with him, me, Kelly, May Lin, Jeremy, Christopher and his friend, Deric and his gf. As usual, they wanna go ktv but they dun sing =/ So again, mostly im the one singing, then christopher joined in after he came. Kenneth sang 1 song, Deric & Jeremy sang only a few of them..the rest, none...Ended up we played more games than singing. We ordered beer again and this time i told them i dun wanna drink much, i dun wanna get rashes and get sick again. We played dice guessing games, and 猜拳, and also "mutiples of numbers" game. It was fun and it was really funny and gross when kenneth took 暧昧 pcitures with Jeremy. We joked that Theo will be damn angry at him for snatching his "gf" Jeremy, hahaha... Kenneth said that he will destroy the evidence when he goes home =.=" We stayed till about 3am and i slept only near 4am...

The next day Sunday, i gotta go for BCP exercise, which is a mock disaster exercise by my company..have to reach my office at 8.30am, which means i only slept 2hrs 'cos i woke at 6am...somemore we gotta walk down from the 17th floor during the exercise... But lucky thing is that we managed to end the whole exercise early at 1.30pm instead of the original 4pm. But opps i left my mp3 player at the office and im not going back for 2 weeks...i had to ask Staffiny to keep it for me 1st and ask Kenneth to retrieve it from her so that he can pass it to mi on tuesday. (since he live same blk as mi)

Speaking of mp3 player, i bought a new mp3 player for myself. Its Creative Vision:M, 30GB. The graphics for watching videos are very nice, and have great storage space! =D

Opps think maybe i too long nvr update on my blog already, 'cos my post is getting abit too long...shall end it here n its time for my beauty sleep.

Dinner with Collegues & Ex Collegues

Me, Mabel, Jensen, Joyce, Rosalind, Serene met up with Sam and Iris at Marina Square's Centre Stage for dinner on Friday. Too bad Jeremy, Cora & Heng Leng were unable to make it that day.

We had spaghetti and pizzas for dinner. Mabel told us that she is mostly doing data entry now, but think their dept's environment is different from us even though we are still in the same company. Sam & Iris are now collegues again in their current company, its a very small world. Iris told us all abt the eerie haunted building of their company, and their strange & scary encounters while she and her current collegues were working graveyard shift. =.=" Sam is new to that place, we asked him to explore and investigate then he can tell us more stories of the haunted building next time lol...

After dinner, Joyce & Rosalind went home, the rest of us continue our "2nd round". We were considering whether to go KTV or the 爱情海民歌餐厅. In the end we opted the 2nd choice as we had not tried it b4. We ordered our drinks & dedicated songs. Jensen & Sam kept wanting to sabo me to sing on stage, i threatened that i wont appear at work tml, then they let the matter rest lol..Phew!

We found that the singers are not that superb and they were like pushing the songs to one another. The drinks are named after the title of chinese love songs. But the waiters were also confused over the names =.=...When we got the bill, its was about $90 for 6 ppl...and we only ordered those type of punch, teas, all non-alcolholic drinks (cos they dont have alcoholic drinks)...Its too expensive, dun tink i wanna go again next time...I rather go KTV and sing songs myself, and its more fun.

These few days i've been crazy over Hana Yori Dango 2, the jap version of Meteor Garden 2 (流星花园). I finally finished the series just now. Its a great show (Though i prefer the TW's version of F4 lol)

Now i gonna get back to my work, got to read up all the notes 'cos i need to give training to a new staff who will be joining my dept tml. Oh, im so kan2 jiong1 sia..dunno if i can do well as a trainer? And i will be going branch attachment for 2 weeks soon in April. Hope all's well and ends well...Better go prepare now...
